Screenshot 2016-12-17 10.17.37.pngMarissa Poirier got her start on the other side of the lens as an international model with her home base in Calgary AB. Since then she has moved behind the lens to pursue her passion for creating images. Since her decision to move behind the lens she has pursued Commercial and Fashion photography.

Nikon in hand Marissa is eagerly working on honing in her style and technical skills. Her specialty is fashion and portrait photography however, she has expanded into commercial photography such as restaurants, real estate, product shots, food and weddings! She feels it’s important to learn different aspects of photography to better understand the relationship between them. Marissa continues to strive towards expanding her business and forming new creative relationships in all aspects of the industry. She hopes to one day strive towards a position of being a creative director for a fashion brand.

Erin Winters Makeup Artist

Erin Winters is The Garter Girls’ resident makeup artist and is an instructor at The Garter Girls School of Burlesque. We are proud to have Erin as part of our team and a sponsor of The Garter Girls.

Erin’s Bio:

I have a long term love affair with makeup and it’s artistry, it’s ability to transform and empower. I thoroughly enjoy the individuals behind the faces I makeup…their story, their journey, and all of the energy that goes between client and artist. I am committed to making the clients I work with feel and look their absolute best. I spent my early days in makeup learning from the artists at Marvel College, making up for weddings, small independent shoots, and other artistic events around Edmonton. After relocating to Calgary, I have found myself working on a wide variety of projects. I’ve been so fortunate to work on and make up for independent films, theatre productions, burlesque performers (Garter Girls), and other independant events where I served as the key makeup artist. Here I organized as well as lead production styling, heading a team of 20 stylists for over 100 performers. I am currently working with the beloved Calgary boutique Blame Betty, serving as a makeup artist for http://www.blamebetty.com. I also work alongside a handful of talented and up and coming photographers (Patricia Rose Photography), working together to create looks and bring life to the vision of their shoot. I have recently been more involved with teaching and mentoring performers, new artists, and any student interested in learning some of the tips and tricks of the industry. Teaching has quickly become a favourite place in my career. Working, connecting, and sharing knowledge with other creative individuals and artists is truly what makes make up so rewarding and continually inspiring.
